Amalgamation

 Amalgamation - A New Beginning - April 2009
The New Forest Church of England Primary School was established on 1st April 2009 when Landford Primary School joined with Nomansland and Hamptworth Primary School.

After extensive consultation within the community, the governors confirmed that the two school sites would teach the younger Key Stage 1 children at Landford, and the older Key Stage 2 children at Nomansland.

At the inauguration the children had a celebration lunch together followed by entertainment from a clown, and a service at Landford Village Hall led by the vicar, the Rev. David Bacon.
Headteacher Lorraine Pugh said "It's very much a case of the two schools joining together - they are both rated 'Good' by Ofsted, have good facilities and will gain from combining their resources."
"People feel strongly that they want to retain quality rural education, and understand the benefits of working together. They have seen the bigger picture."
"The parents are working on a new uniform and logo, and it’s all going very smoothly."
The amalgamation did indeed go smoothly and when Ofsted inspected the new school 15 months later, it achieved 'Outstanding' status - a well-deserved recognition of the staff's dedication and the children's achievements.
