Admissions Appeals

Applicants who are refused a place at The New Forest Church of England (VA) Primary School have the right to submit an appeal to an independent Admission Appeal panel.

Completed appeal forms should be returned directly to the school.

Timetable

Normal Admissions Round Applications (September 2020 entry):

Closing date for Normal Admissions Round applications: 15 January 2020

National Offer date (letters dispatched to applicants): 16 April 2020

Deadline for parents to accept place: 1 May 2020

Normal Admissions Round Appeals (September 2020 entry):

Closing date for appeals: 18 May 2020 (20 school days from notification date)

Appeals will be heard by: 21 July 2020 (within 40 schools days of the deadline for lodging appeals)

n.b. no appeals will be heard until after the relevant closing date has passed.

Appeals lodged after this date will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline, or 30 school days of the appeal being lodged, according to which is the later date.

Appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ advance notice of the hearing.

Appellants will be sent a decision letter within 5 school days of the hearing.

Appeals outside of the Normal Admissions Round

Applications to appeal must be received within 20 school days from the date of the refusal letter.

Appeal hearings will take place within 30 days of the appeal being lodged.
