The New Forest CofE Primary School & Nursery

Our Curriculum

The New Forest Church of England Primary School at Landford, Nomansland and Hamptworth believes that the curriculum is a powerful tool that promotes a love of learning and willingness to explore a broad spectrum of subjects.

We are proud to use The National Curriculum (2014), Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework (2017), and the Locally Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education and Eco-Schools as our starting points for a wide and varied learning experience for our children.

Our curriculum is the planned activities that we organise in order to promote personal, academic and spiritual growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also the extra-curricular activities that the school organises in order to enrich the children’s experience. It also includes the ‘hidden curriculum’ – what the children learn from the way they are treated and expected to behave embedded within our Christian ethos.

At the heart of our curriculum is the belief that all pupils are entitled to the very best education within in a safe and stimulating learning environment. Children experience a wide variety of high-quality learning opportunities during their time at the school and they will be given every encouragement to develop their own interests and skills.

We carefully plan and review our curriculum on a regular basis to ensure it reflects the children's interests and current affairs. We currently work on a two year cycle in KS1, LKS2 and UKS2.
